This was taken early morning using available light on the narrow banks of the Goulburn River near Jamieson in Victoria. It was taken on a trout fishing trip in 2009. Over the break I did lots of experimenting. The above artworks are from a little series of contemporary art I developed by screen printing onto natural hemp. These are some new originals I'm working on. They are a mix of acrylics, oil stick and screen print on canvas (each piece is 105cm x 40cm). The colour palette was inspired by Melbourne's northern weatherboard homes and the pizza shop on my corner.. I've just got back from PanelPop Gallery on Brunswick St, Fitzroy. My work is now available using their fantastic PanelPop medium. PanelPop is a new art medium. Spring was the perfect choice of contemporary art for this modern apartment. The owner wanted to add a bold splash of rich colour. Brunswick Street Gallery's 'Picture This 08' photography competition opens tonight. I have four pieces of art entered.
